OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Scholarships & Advocacy
The Devin Stevenson Scholarship Fund is dedicated to providing scholarships to Greater Houston high school students who demonstrate outstanding achievements in academics and sports. In addition to supporting students, we strive to raise awareness about gun violence by hosting school and community events. We have three goals for our organization. First, we want to change the culture of the youth in the Greater Houston Area by demonstrating better ways to resolve conflict through our events, scholarship essays, and our promotional materials. Secondly, our organization strives to be a leader in the community on gun safety, providing gun safety courses to both the youth and adults in the Greater Houston area. Thirdly, we are aware of the correlation of education and safer communities. So, we are positioning qualifying Greater Houston Area students for collegiate success through our scholarship programs.
About Devin
Devin was a 14-year-old high school freshman who was tragically gunned down by a fellow student, shocking the local community and raising concerns about school and community safety and gun violence. The incident occurred after school hours, but it still left students, teachers, and families devastated. Devin was a great student and athlete who loved school. He was a very giving soul who wanted to help everybody. We're honoring him, by giving scholarships to students who share the same vision as he did.
